This was with the understanding that a properly structured group will without a doubt result in effectiveness as well as efficiency. Firstly, we structured our group by properly communicating the availability of starting times and ending times of our meetings and ensuring the group members that the meeting will begin and end on time (Rivas, 2015). We also structured our groupwork meetings by ensuring that the meetings were concluded appropriately. This includes giving appropriate time to structure and end the meeting and not rush into concluding the meeting because we sometimes introduce important issues to discuss towards the end of the meeting. Another process we took toward constructing group structure is by setting timelines that guide the work that should be done at a particular time. This plan basically outlines tasks and gives them deadlines. The following is an outline of our plan which shows our objectives and goals within certain time frames which includes weekly objectives and goalsWeek 4: Gather resources- weekly zoom on SundaysWeek 5: L: Family Systems Description. We also allocate adequate time to discuss a point or issue and make sure to exhaust it without spending too much time on it. We also ensure that the transition from one task of the Wiki project to another is seamless. In ensuring that all group members participate, we assigned each group member a particular task which they take up and we all later discuss together during our zoom meetings or text messages. Some strengths of working in the group have been, that the groups work can draw from individuals with different skill sets, different levels of understanding as well as experience. Another strength we have experienced as a group is the adoption of new ideas and ways of thinking that would likely not have come up working by myself hence allowing the exploration of new ideas and perspectives. Working in the group has also enabled sharing of workloads. This has allowed individuals to not feel overwhelmed with work since it is shared among the members of the group. The group is also an opportunity for personal development since it allows me to get support from other group members hence improving on any weaknesses. Some of the group’s weaknesses have been, decision making takes time. This is because the decisions are based on different perspectives and information and therefore it may take time to agree on one decision. Another weakness was that it initially took time for members of my group to understand our roles and responsibilities and to assign the roles and responsibilities appropriately so we wouldn’t overlap them and find more than one person handling the same task. One last weakness is we are all in different time zones and we all have children, families and working lives. So, it’s a little hard to make sure you don’t overwhelm a member with group project stuff when they already have a lot going on with work, children, and other things going on.
