An example of a topic that I find very interesting in this module is the topic of
recruitment and selection (Lloyd, Nigro, & J. Edward Kellough, 2014). Selection is the process
of choosing employees who have the right qualifications to fill a particular vacancy in an
organization. The process of selection in an organization hires and identifies applicants who can
fill the vacancies in an organization. Recruitment and selection are essential for any organization
because management can select a productive workforce. It is also crucial because it determines
the success of the company in its operations. Employees are the most valuable assets of any
organization.
There are several methods of recruitment and selection. These methods include
interviews, shortlisting, presentations, application forms and CVs, ability and aptitude tests, and
group exercises. An effective recruitment process in an organization ensures that there are no
turnovers. And it makes it easier for the management to select the right candidates who can be
able to meet the goals of an organization (Lloyd, Nigro, & J. Edward Kellough, 2014). The main
objective of the recruitment and selection process in an organization is ensuring there is a
transparent and affair hiring process. Therefore, a recruitment process ensures that all candidates
are informed of the status of their application.
A recruitment and selection process ensures there is consistency. The selection criteria
for all the candidates should be equal because it provides there is consistency. Additionally, it
also ensures there is no discrimination in the hiring process (Bruck, 2014). Effective recruitment
and effective process illustrate the credibility of a particular organization. Today, fake companies
have come up, and they are not offering genuine vacancies to applicants. Therefore specific
