The preliminary thesis for the topic is, should college athletes be paid for playing?
Outline
I. Thesis Case Analysis

Are there any legal grounds to justify the paying of college athletes?
o College students, along with other stakeholders, find it not useful for them not to
receive payments since they are not allowed to participate in other careers or look
for paying jobs.
o Additionally, since they practice for approximately 40 hours weekly, they
consider themselves working as professionals. Thus, they should be paid.
o Furthermore, they have too many expenses that college students should be paid in
order to carter for those expenses such as tuition fee and basic needs (Klier,
2019).

Why should they not be paid?
o Playing or participating in sports in college is already an excellent platform for
them since they receive a lot of benefits for doing so, such as their school fees
been paid for.
o Paying such players will bring an imbalance to the overall school program
systems and ultimately leading to a dire in financial constraints (Klier, 2019).
o It would lead to mismanaging of the money in purchasing things that are not
beneficial for them.
